More food woes

I briefly considered pulling some April Fool's post like announcing I was pregnant, but then thought better of it because (1) I'm really not a jokester, and (2) God might just punish me for my prank and I'd wind up pregnant. *shudder*

So instead I bring you more food anecdotes. Because, really, we don't manage to make any meals around here without some excitement.

For lunch today I was boiling peas. The idea was to eventually puree them up into baby food, but after I saw that Sydney could just eat the peas without all that work, I decided against it. But I'm getting ahead of myself. So I have Sydney in one arm, bag of frozen peas in the other. I go to dump the peas into the pot of boiling water, and it all went awry. A chance breeze through my kitchen? An invisible kitchen gnome causing mischief? Whatever the reason, the bag tweaks out and suddenly I have peas everywhere. In the pot, on the stove, under the burner, and inside the oven (don't ask). Choose your preposition, and chances are there was a frozen pea there. It took me forever to find all those little peas. Fortunately, the peas on the floor were quickly gobbled up by Daisy, otherwise known as the Mighty Shi-Tzu Swiffer.

But wait, there's more.

Jason cooked up a frozen pizza for dinner tonight, and when he took it out of the oven he discovered...

"Nuts! I left the cardboard under the pizza!"

but not until after he had sliced the pizza up.

It required a bit more cooking, but turned out okay. And for the record, it doesn't really even taste like cardboard. Although our kitchen is a bit smokey...
