Did I say I wasn't going to be involved in the spring theatre production? Are you sure? I'm glancing over my posts, and I'm pretty sure that you can't prove it.
Well, I'm not directing it. Not even assistant directing it. Not even ushering, or doing concessions, or the poster, or the programs.
This time around I'm IN it.
Long story short, the college is doing the musical Into the Woods, they needed someone to play Jack's Mom (as in Jack and the Beanstalk), I auditioned, and voila. Ten minutes later I'm singing "To wish and wait from day to day will never keep the wolves away. So into the Woods, the time is now..."
I wasn't sure my voice would remember how to hit that high F#, but some things you don't forget I guess.
Performance dates are the second week in March, so if you're local you better clear your calendars. And if you think maybe it won't be that nifty, well let me entice you with promises that I get hit over the head with a stick in the second act and die a sad and tragic death. You can't pass that up.
It's a huge time commitment, but only for a couple months. Plus, how often do I get to be on the other side of the curtain? I haven't been in a musical since Guys and Dolls during my freshman year in high school, and I haven't been a play since I did Picasso at the Lapine Agile six years ago.
