After a whirlwind of holiday activities, today was our first day of just us--the four of us--hanging out and doing our thing. A couple errands here, a little nap there, and plenty of regular food (plus a bit of leftover holiday chocolate). It felt good to be on something of a schedule.
At some point I want to catch up on my emails and reading about all your holiday blessings. And at some point I want to write about these past few days and all that they have meant to me. Right now, however, I'm most interested in catching up on my sleep and recovering quickly, so I'm taking the rest of the week off from blogging. I'll be back here after the New Year with plenty of pictures.
Let me just briefly mention that we had a wonderful Christmas. My friend Diane, who has all three of her kids home from college for the holidays, summed it up perfectly when she wrote me recently: "Nothing compares to the love of our children and our precious families." So true. The best present I got for Christmas: waking up Christmas morning and having my husband and two girls snuggled in bed with me.
