The deal is that before we go to the hospital the contractions are supposed to be four minutes apart, lasting one minute, for a least one hour.
Check that off the list. In fact, check it off as of 4 AM this morning. I've managed to find at least one shiny object in every room to use as a focal point whenever a contraction hits. The bubbles on the soap dispenser. The lights on the Christmas tree. The glare of a light bulb. Give me something shiny, and I can make it through. I'm still miserable, but I'm making it through. Now we're just waiting and wishing for my water to break before heading off to the hospital. If that's all I get for Christmas, that would be perfect.
Well, that and an epidural.
Okay...the water breaking, the epidural, AND the baby. That's all I want. My needs are so few.
Oh, and dinner last night? It was good. Good to be with family, and as an added bonus I had creme brulee for dessert. It almost made my stalled labor worth it.
