It's hot around here. 103 degrees yesterday, which is not usual weather for us Pac NWers. Of course, I have AC in my house, so it doesn't bother me. I'd say turn up the heat, except I feel too sorry for people who don't have AC. I will admit that it just makes me giddy when I go outside at 11 PM and it's 80 degrees. I'm transported back to that feeling of being a kid, when warm evenings were like magic to me.
The other magic is, like I mentioned earlier, I received a little bloggy something. Not only did Sophie give me a Rockin' Girl Blogger award, but Julie (of PBN fame) at mothergoosemouse gave me one too. I know blog awards may rub some people the wrong way, but I like to see them as all good fun. I'm always just tickled pink whenever people like me :)
There are lots of bloggers I could pass the award along to (like everyone who has ever left me a nice comment, or everyone I know in real life and/or are related to), but I'd like to highlight a few bloggers I've been reading for ages and whose encouraging words have made me a better person and parent.

Even though there are other women who have given me a tremendous amount of encouragement too, these four moms have a special place in my heart for lots of personal reasons. There's no obligation to pass the award along, but I wanted to because it's my way of saying "thank you."
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a little curly-headed wonder who's calling me to come watch her splash in her new, tiny purple pool. There's nothing like a roasting, toasting summer day!
