Welcome, December! What sort of wonderful blessings are you bringing this year?
A trip to a snowy Mt. Hood resort? On the 11th and 12th.
A visit from my sister? Flying in on the 18th (and plenty of warning to you, Denver airport: I will be bitter if you mess up her flight).
A birthday for a soon-to-be 3 year old? Jules can't wait for the 21st to come fast enough.
Christmas with my family? All planned for the 24th.
Christmas with Jason's family? Set for the 25th.
Christmas with more extended family? Marked for the 26th.
First birthday for my favorite nephew? Happening on the 27th.
An overnight vacation in Portland? Twice. Once with a dear friend; once with my super handsome hubby.
A flurry of snow? Who knows. Hopefully not as much as last year, but a little might be nice. Just for novelty, and photographs, and snowball fights. My most favorite part of snow? The sound of snow falling. Snow falling in a dark quiet field is sublime. It's better than absolute silence. It's peace and stillness and whispered perfection all wrapped up in one.
I'd like to capture some of that kind of peace this month. Don't get me wrong, I love the noises of the holiday too, but everyone needs a little peace, a few moments (or more) to breathe, to stop talking. That's why--thanks to Marilyn's tip--I'm participating in December Views this month. There aren't any rules particularly except to post photographs that reflect your life, and maybe think about letting the pictures speak for themselves.
Trust me, it won't be silent here.
Hopefully it'll be better than silent.
Hopefully it'll be something like the sound of snow falling...in a visual, less-than-perfect way. ♥
