Lots of rain means lots of squishy ground, with strange creatures poking from the earth. Strange, squishy, earthy creatures that are perfect for a low-to-the-ground photography session (and my parents do occasionally pick some of them to eat).
Thanks to some childhood picture books, I always imagine little creatures using the mushrooms as oversized umbrellas.
This one already has his Christmas lights strung up.
This one was quite timid. Even my macro lens (*or rather, my camera on macro setting) had trouble capturing her quiet charm.
I wouldn't eat a mushroom even on a double dare, but I can't resist taking pictures of them.
