When I was trying to decide which photo to submit for PW's photo contest, I had a hard time choosing a photo. It's true. My girls make me laugh. Oh, they make me laugh. Obviously they make me laugh more than they make anyone (except Jason) else laugh: that's part of adoring your children and believing they are amazing and hilarious.
I have dozens of photos that I find funny, but what I find funny is, of course, not what everyone would find funny. However. In glancing through my collection of family photographs, I had to share a few that never fail to make me smile. Some of these are recent enough that you've seen them, but here they are again.
She's got the sass down, even when it's just for fun.
And when she's not being sassy, she's being a ham. There's no in-between with this girl.
Not actually a funny picture, but it makes me laugh anyway. Sydney can be so goofy.
I love the way Jules is looking at Cinderella. Kills me.
Would you believe that Jules makes this face almost every day? Mostly at the cat, and sometimes at me, but occasionally just as she's wandering around telling a story and growling to herself.
Sydney, on the other hand, doesn't make this face at me unless she's really provoked. Like, say, I put a big bow on her forehead. That just really annoys her.
One of my favorite photos of Sydney. The pantless joy. So funny and so sweet.
Oh, she says, it's France's birthday?! Let them eat cake!
A perfect example of how once you become a parent your child can make you laugh like no one else. I wouldn't say this is an especially funny picture, but I remember the afternoon I took it. I remember Sydney in her crib, laughing and smiling, and I thought it was the funniest thing ever. If you're a parent, you know what I mean. There is something about a giggling baby that is hard to resist.
Also hard to resist?
My man who makes me laugh. He's such a goofball sometimes.
Here's to laughter and joy every day!
