...us under the umbrella!
Hey! It's our first formal family picture with Addie. Woo hoo!
Who can always make her baby sister smile? Sydney can!
Who's twenty-two weeks old? Addie is!
Who's a ham in front of the camera? Jules is!
Who's that family of five? Well, hey. That's us.
The Photoshoot: My very wonderful sistah Sarah took the pictures, and then I Photoshopped and Photoshopped and Photoshopped (and may still go back and tweak some of these some more). You know that Windows commercial about the mom trying to get a family picture and she has to combine half a dozen pictures just to get the one that she likes? Yeah, it was like that.
But it all worked out and the grandparents will be happy to finally be getting a family picture of us. And now I can print up our Valentine's Day cards too. If it wasn't almost 2 am in the morning, I'd feel super productive. I do actually still feel production, but I'm also so sleepy. Mamas who have babies who don't sleep all the way through the night shouldn't stay up this late. I tell myself it's for a good cause.
The props: My girls love umbrellas. Love them. The girl would walk around in the house with their umbrellas open if I didn't generally discourage it. Someone always gets poked in the eye, and occasionally that someone is me. So. No inside umbrellas. The above umbrellas have managed to remain mostly unbroken for over a year, which has to be some kind of record.
I will add that the girls really wanted a unicorn in the picture with us. "U is for unicorn! U is for unicorn!" And call my fussy, but I just didn't want a unicorn in our family pictures. I know. I'm crazy. But, I think I'll still snap a picture of Addie with our family unicorn, and then all will be complete and happy.
