I didn't get around to doing this yesterday, but I have enough random tidbits to share that Saturday will just have to do.

One of my speech classes is unusually small: only 10 students. Normally, I have a hard time with small classes because they tend to be a little boring.
This semester, however, my small class has some really charismatic characters, which in turn makes the whole class a lot more fun.
Case in point.
Even though Jason and I usually do a big whopping NOTHING for Valentine's Day, I got him this picture printed on canvas. I had been wanting to do it anyway, but because I find the picture super romantic, I waited until Valentine's Day to give it to him.
I showed this picture to my class and told them what I had done.
Funny kid #1: That is dope.
Funny kid #2: That is doper than dope.
Funny kid #1: That is doper than a frozen bag of dope.
Me: (straight faced) It's funny you mention that, because since we live in Washington, getting Jason a bag of frozen dope was my second choice.
And then we all had a serious case of the giggles for the next hour of class.

It was almost 60 degrees here yesterday.
SIXTY!
SIXTY!!!
It was like Christmas in February. Minus the cold weather and rain.
Um. Let's try that again.
It was like June in February.
It was awesome.

I took my car in this week to have the 100,000 mile tune up done. After I brought it home, I was looking over the bill and couldn't figure out how they added it up. I do not normally try to decipher bills from the mechanic...there's this charge, that charge, and then the mysterious "we know what we're doing and you don't" charge.
But it was a pretty large bill, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask him how he had added it up.
So I called him, and we went over the bill, me being uber non-confrontational and saying, "I'm not saying you overcharged me, but I just was wondering how you added it up." I like our mechanic. I do not want to get on his bad side.
Sure enough, though, he HAD made a mistake. And he credited me $41.
I was pretty pleased with myself.

My little brother came over last weekend and asked for some help putting together a birthday card. He had a vision for what he wanted, but I wasn't sure if I had the Photoshop skills to pull it together. He wanted a particular image and on the image a specific car of a specific color, and then a guy leaning out the car with a specific instrument.
Thank goodness for Google Images.
I found these three images:
And then with a little pixie dust and some Photoshopping, came up with this:
(Of course, the final draft has the recipient's name.) It was pretty fun to do, but the more I do photos like this the more skeptical I get of photographs in the media. You can Photoshop ANYTHING.

I managed to get all three girls and myself in to the dentist this month. Because it would have been too convenient to have any of the appointments on the same day, we were all scheduled for different days. Fortunately, the dentist is close and we always get some kind of treat after the dentist. That meant four treats for me.
No cavities! Maybe braces next year. Probably.
No cavities! Maybe no braces at all, just like Daddy.
And then here would be the picture I would have taken of Addie at her first dentist appointment...except she was clinging to me with all her might, and the only way the dentist could look at her teeth is when she was screaming.
Fortunately, the event didn't traumatize her too much. She's been raving about the dentist for the past week. "My teef! So pretty! Dentist look at my teef!" Yep.

Jason starts soccer in one week. This is his third year of coaching soccer in the spring, and every year I get more and more anxious. Three nights a week he's gone until the girls' bedtime, and then two nights a week he's gone until past my bedtime. The first year I had Hawaii at the end of the season to look forward to. Last year I had Scotland in the middle of the season. This year I have Florida...but it's all the way out in July. I am EXTREMELY grateful for Florida. It will be amazing and awesome and fantastic. But it's in July, which feels a loooooong ways away right now.
I am really trying to rally my inner strength and tell myself it will be fine. I will not resent this sport that my husband loves so much. I will be fine. I will be fine. I will be...*sigh*
I'm totally buying a new pair of boots in the middle of the season. Maybe two.

Addie just now brought up a little pocket sized doll and sat her in front of my iPhone (which is next to the keyboard). She said, "Dolly wants to watch choo-choo train." I turned on the requested YouTube video, and now Addie is narrating the whole video to her doll.
This girl.
It's too much cuteness.
