It's true that today's kids are growing up pretty tech savvy. Addie knows how to turn on my iPhone, she knows how to slide the screen with her finger, she knows how to leave an indecipherable comment on Instagram.
But she also knows that a good old fashioned hand phone will be perfectly fine for talking to Elmo. Addie's love for Elmo is wide and deep (something of a mystery since she's seen Sesame Street only a few times in her life). She often dials him up during snack time and they have a nice long chat. Elmo is the one who does most of the talking, and Addie is a good friend and just listens most of the time.
